Forest Valley provided clean white towels to campers for each swim – twice daily. Keeping these towels clean was a major endeavour. Laundry trucks made twice-daily visits to pick up and return towels. Towels were given to campers before each swim and were to be placed into laundry baskets after use. The maintenance staff collected the towels from the various locations and prepared them for pick-up.
Newly constructed auditorium and office (at right) in 1964. The office window would be replaced by a door and a full kitchen installed to prepare food for the Swim/Weekend Club. The building was out-of-bounds during camp and was largely unused from the 80’s onward.
Arts & crafts in front of the “The Terrace”. Notice door instead of window.
All of the kitchen supplies were moved into two storage closets built on either side of the stage in the auditorium and remained there until camp closed.
Photo is taken in front of A-Frame with future location of mini-golf course and trampoline pit in the background. Also visible are the 3 shuffleboard courts near the I-Pool. One of these would be removed while building the mini golf course.
Patio umbrellas in the background are for the Swim Club.
Wooden fence would be replaced with chain link fence.
